So I am a total slacker! Its taken a while to get use to the whole two kids thing and I have neglected our blog...sad! Here is Junes birth announcement with a couple pics of her one month photo shoot. She is getting so big! She just smiled for the first time and cooed on the 27th of August. June is also sleeping til about 5:30 every morning. LOVE IT! She is also very alert and loves to watch what you are doing.

Avery loves being a big sister and helps me out a lot! She is starting back up with dance on Thursday and is so excited. She is also talking in way big sentences now and is really wanting to learn how to read. At bedtime I read her a book then she has a turn after wards to look through it. Last night she said, "mom I can't read this" so I pointed at the words and had her repeat them back to me and she thought she was so cool. She also has flashcards she loves to go through and her shape book. She can read the numbers 1-5 also. This girl is quite the smarty pants.

Today June is one week old! I can't believe how fast this last week has gone. June is doing very well. Today they stopped the gavage feedings! Hurray! She still has the tub in until they know how well she will handle having all normal feeds. She also took her first bottle today and chugged it down within minutes. She sure likes to eat! She is also still maintaining her temp today; but is still not in an open crib (they don't want to do too much at once.) Tonight her nurse will be taking some blood :( to check her belly ruben levels and make sure they are staying low. Hopefully she has gained or maintained her weight today so she can come home soon!

So tonight I am blogging from our "boarding" room from the hospital. I will be sleeping her until June can come home so I dont have to drive back and forth every couple of hours. June is doing so good! Today we are doing 2 out of 3 feedings. The third is a gavage feeding through the feeding tube. Every gavage feeding June gets way mad about an hour later because she wants more food and wants to nurse. So they have finally upped the amount she gets. She is getting tested on how well she can keep her temp on her own and then she gets to sleep in an open crib. Today she was able to get out from under the jaundice lights which she has been under the last few days. She also got her PIC line out. (it is a type of IV) So she is really close to be able to come home. Today is the trial run on feedings and keeping her temp. She will be released when she can handle all her feedings from me or a bottle. (she still hasn't tried a bottle yet) If she does well tonight on her feedings tomorrow they will up them. So lets cross our fingers she will do well and she can come home in a couple days!

Everyone this is crystal. still in the hospital but actually had a chance to sit down and update the blog! Having a nicu baby keeps you busy. well June is actually doing very well for being 5 weeks early. Avery was born at 33 weeks and I can't believe how much of a difference 2 weeks makes. She wont being coming home with me tomorrow; but is doing fine. She just has to be able to do certain things before she can come home. Today they took off the oxygen tube (the tube thingy that goes in your nose like in the movies.) Its a trial run but it has been off since five and she has being doing good. She is feeding well and they keep increasing her tube feedings by 2 cc's every feeding. I am also feeding her every six hours and she is doing amazing. June is still in a heated bed but it hardl;y has to adjust the temp at all. She will soon be moved to an open air crib and hopefully can keep her temp. As of now I think she will be able to come home soon even though they say preemies stay until their due date. We are also doing some foot stretches for her feet. they are turned inwards because she was cramped so much in my tummy. So every feeding she gets a foot massage. Lucky! Well hopefully that all makes sense since I am doped up on drugs at the moment. More to come!

Baby June has arrived!

June Marie Hadlock was born this morning at 6:15 am by C section. She weighed 5.5 oz and measured 17.5 inches. Mom is fine and is looking forward to a full recovery! Baby is in the NICU but is doing great they are just monitoring her. Crystals water broke at her 11am Dr checkup on tuesday. So they sent her to Timp hospital where they started a patosin (spelling?) drip to make her have contractions but after around 18 hours or so of labor they decided to do a C section to deliver safely. Everything went well! we look forward to getting her home and see how Avery does!

Yes I am officially farther along than I was when I had Avery by one week. CRAZY! I had a doctor appointment today and the baby is growing and healthy hurray. I am now dilated to 2 cm. So who knows when I will go into labor. They said in two weeks they wont try to stop it at all. I can't believe we are down the wire! Or that I made it this far. I remember the doctor not even knowing if I could carry this baby to viability. It is truly a miracle and I feel so blessed we are going to have a new sweet baby girl in our family.

So Avery went to her Aunt Lacie's on Monday for the day. She loves going over and playing with her cousins! We all know how bad of a sleeper Avery is. Right now were are trying to stay to a pretty stick schedule so we can get her sleeping through the night. Yes she is 2 and 1/2 and still wakes up at least once at night. It very brief and usually she will go right back to sleep if you check on her. She has given up naps most days but we still have consistent "quiet time" where she stays in her room for an hour and reads or she falls asleep. We never know if she will, even though you can see she really does need some daytime sleep. Anyways by some miracle Lacie was able to get bother toddlers to fall asleep in the same bed. And these girl just don't fall asleep anywhere very easily. CRAZY! She got this cute picture of them. The crazy thing is they are sleeping so close and slept for like two hours that way! Thanks Lacie what a trooper!

So Lately I have really wanted to get into digital scrapbooking all our many pictures that are just sitting on our computer. I was really overwhelmed and I still am for that matter because we have THOUSANDS of pictures that I have to go through. Well I came across this really cute paper pack for FREE on the scrapbook website and got motivated! I set up a comfy chair and a place to kick up my feet and spent a lot of the day scrapbooking away. I am now looking into buying My Memories Suite to make things a little easier. They have pre made templates that take minutes to finish instead of hours making your own in Photoshop! HELLO I am definitely wanting that.

32 weeks and counting

I can't believe that I have made the 32 week mark today! All I can say is I am so grateful this little one has made it this far. We have been on a roller coaster ride since November 25. Weird I know the exact date. I feel so blessed that our prayers have been answered and we will have a little miracle come into our lives soon. It's been a hard long journey that I will never forget. I can't wait to see her little face and I'm not going to hide it...be pain free! I have another doctor appointment tomorrow so we will see if anything is new!

Tuesday I had another doctor appointment and not much has changed except I'm 70% efaced which is NOT normal this early. Still dilated to a one and they are still shocked how low this baby is, which is also not normal this early either. I took a test to see if I would go into labor within the next two weeks and it came back negative HURRAY!!! It is a 99% chance I won't go into labor. So two weeks of no worries! I love it!

Avery is growing up so fast and saying the funniest things lately. Me and Chris die of laughter everyday at some of the things. Here are some of our favorites...

- Daddy the bugs tacked me. (when she woke up scared in the middle of the night) She continues to talk about the bugs that tacked her and got her back and how daddy scared them away.

-I want to call grandma! (On the phone with grandma....) - grandma you come over? Ok? bye.

- Oh my gosh!

- I'm naked!

- Look at mommies bum! (this happened at one of our many hospital visits and had us laughing along with all the nurses..... embarrassing!)

- I can't go outside right now cause its too windy!

- Cooper don't pee on it! Bad boy! Go outside! (while pointing her finger at him)

- Woopie's little (when Chris gave penelope a bath and all her fur was wet....she does look half the size when wet)

So thursday was quite the interesting day. I had to go into the doctor again because I started spotting again and having some contractions. They couldn't find anything wrong which was good but it didn't sit well with me. I went home and fell asleep for a few hours and when I woke up things were worse. I ended up calling the doctor again and he had me go into to the hospital for the fourth time! They monitored me and did a whole lot of tests. My contractions got worse so they gave me this really lame shot that makes your heart race and makes you shake. It usually works but this time it didn't completely stop the contractions so they gave me a different medication. That time it worked. They found out I was dilated to a one and decided to give me the steroid shot for the babies lungs. We were there for five hours and finally after my contractions died down we got to go home thankfully. I have to take the medication that makes my heart race every 6 hours to keep the contractions under control. Thank goodness the contractions stopped and now little baby has the lung booster so now we just wait to see how much longer I can go. I'm just grateful that I am 30 weeks today!

So this time around I thought I should do preggo pics a little early since with Avery I ended up doing them in the hospital being rushed by the nurses so they could start inducing me. Sad :(So this time we set up a little photo shoot and Chris took the pictures earlier than usual! Thanks babe! I love them! Avery was being so silly the whole time but we still got some really precious ones. Enjoy! And of course we had to take a couple of just Miss Avery. Isn't she cute?!

Oh baby update. I guess I really haven't put anything up for a while about that. Reason being there isn't anything new. Still hobbling around feeling like I'm 90 years old. Still having contractions every once in a while. I have been to the hospital 3 times for pre term labor which is a miracle that I didn't start dilating. Still have a ton of pain that the doctors can't explain. LAME! But literally nothing has changed which is a MIRACLE and I'm just really lucky that I have made it this far. Thank you everyone for all the help and love you have shown that has truly helped our family so much.

So Crystal is 24 weeks along on Monday and she is already having painful contractions and we have taken her to the hospital once. She is still not doing well so we are headed out again tonight. Hopefully they can do something to slow them down because we are not ready to have this baby yet! Luckily we have amazing family and friends that have stepped in and helped with groceries and babysitting and just plain being there! So hopefully this hospital visit goes well and we wont have to sleep over!

So I love to read but haven't read through a whole book since before I was married. YIKES! Anyways since I am stuck in bed and can't leave the house I thought it was a good time to read the twilight series since EVERYONE I know has read them and LOVED them. So I read the whole series in a week and it was AWESOME! My new obsession and love. I can't even get over it enough to read another book. I have watched to movie three times in one week and have cravings to watch it more. Although I may be obsessed, at least I'm not wearing twilight clothes and going crazy with that. Anyways thought I would share that.

Baby Update

So I had my latest doctor appointment Tuesday and it was my first time out of the house in 3 weeks! It was quite nice. But I was in a heck of a lot of pain afterwards. Pretty much everything is the same. Nothing is worse which is good. And my cervical length actually got a bit longer. But since the baby isn't able to survive yet outside my belly I'm still on strict bed rest. I can leave to go lay down at someone else's house which I couldn't do before. But nothing else, in fact the doctor told me even sitting up wouldn't be good which I didn't know before. I'm just glad that nothing has gotten worse. My doctor just wants me to make it at least 4 more weeks. That seems like nothing now. Anyways thanks again to all of you that have helped us out! I am so grateful and appreciative!

I just was feeling so much gratitude so I just had to do a quick blog about it! I will have another baby update on tuesday after my appointment. (It will be the first time I have left the house in over three weeks!) Can you say CABIN FEVER!

So some of you have heard already that I am on bed rest so I thought I would explain more details. Saturday night I had some bleeding which pretty much freaked us out. It started tapering off throughout the night but then the cramps started. I had had pain a lot of the time the last couple of weeks anyways so the cramps didn't freak us out as much. The thursday before I had a really bad shooting pain that would stop me in my tracks but everything seamed alright so we thought it was growing pains. But when the bleeding started we ended up calling the doctor and he was worried about placenta previa and said you need to stay in bed. We waited Monday to hear what the doctors wanted me to do and I headed in Tuesday for another ultra sound. (This was my 10th) Our little girl was perfect. They ended up doing the 20 week ultra sound since we had time and she is growing well and all her organs looked good. At the end Chris remember that the doctor had asked us to have the tech measure my cervical length since i was carrying this baby in my left, smaller uterus and it had a really abnormal cervix which nobody even noticed til my miscarriage over the summer. Anyways the cervical length is the distance from where the baby is to the opening of the cervix. A normal length is 3 cm. I measured at 2.2 cm. Red flag. There was also fluid collecting in the passage way. Another red flag. Which completely explains why I thought I peed the bed the other night. Some of that fluid made its way out and tadaa I thought I wet the bed or my water broke. Well with the news of my shortening cervix it made sense why I have been feeling so much pressure and just plain weird. The doctor said its bed rest for you and here I am in bed until little missy is born. They also say I will have the baby early. Not only was I going to have the baby early cause my freaky uterus now its another problem too. So miss Avery has been at the neighbors all week I miss her so bad! She's my little side kick. I am just laying in bed make up less in Chris's T shirts being board! I'm counting down days til my due date and all I can say is I hope we make it past 28 weeks.

All Done!! We had Avery's hair cut tonight! We went to a place that just does Kids hair cuts (Cookie Cutters) and knows how to make it fun it only took like 15 min and Avery was a good girl and let the nice girl cut her hair.

Neti Pot

Ok so we all know I have been SO sick with a bad cold for over a week now. I guess being sick and being preggers don't mix. Anyways I couldn't breath what soever and my whole face was killing me to a point that I could not sleep. One night I was up til 3 AM! Yikes! Well Chris kept talking about this Neti pot and how it was on Oprah. I thought he was crazy Chris knowing anything that was on Oprah... weird! After a couple days of agonizing pain Chris said thats it I'm going to Walgreens and I'm buying you a neti pot! He came home and I was horrified to find out I had to dump the stuff into my nose!!! At first I felt as though I was going to drown. It didn't help that Chris was all up in my face video taping me since I was freaking out! Well once he put down the camera and once I relaxed I finished the cleanse and taada! I could actually breath!!!! It is actually quite amazing! So to anyone who has a cold or can't breath try the neti pot!!!

Can you tell? Well yesterday I dragged my sick b-hind to Fetal Fotos and we got to find out the gender of our little bundle of joy. At first the cord was in between the babies legs and we couldn't tell. The lady had me lay on my side and I was like we better find out today! Avery said to the baby," Move Baby! Move move!" And the baby did! Avery has thought the whole time she is going to have a sister. In fact she talks about it all the time. And..... She was right we are having another baby girl!!!!!! HURRAY!

Long nights, lots of hugs and snuggles

So most of you have heard Miss Avery has Phenomena. Now I am a quite the germaphob mom we don't play around sick kids and use lots of hand soap and hand sanitizer. It has been ingrained into my head before Ave was even born. Since she was born so early I was prepped that I had to be a germaphob if I wanted Avery to stay out of the hospital. And we made it over 2 years without anything to serious. Yesterday Avery was acting really weird. Usually even when she is sick she is on the go playing running around playing. But yesterday was different. It all started last week when she started sounding horse. I just thought she was getting the cold that EVERYONE had. Thursday night she started a fever and some congestion. A little cough that seemed worse at night and in the morning. It continued but didn't seem alarming. Saturday she seemed to be feeling better. Sunday a little worse. But Monday something just wasn't right. She layed around completely lethargic. Wanted to lay in my bed and watch movies. She fell asleep on the couch and my bed which she has never done in her life. I called Chris and he suggested to call the doc. They had me come in since she had a fever and a cough. Sure enough the doc said she was pretty sure Avery had pneumonia and we had to go the hospital for an XRay. We headed over there and she didn't want to have her picture taken. She pretty much freaked out. I then realized I couldn't even be in the room cause I was pregnant so I had to leave my screaming baby alone...I was almost in tears. We waited in the waiting room for the results and sure enough the doc confirmed she has Phenomena; but it is only a mild case. So thank goodness I took her into the doctor. They pretty much told us to go home and watch her breathing if it got worse to call the doc immediately and she may be hospitalized. Chris drove Ave home while I took the trek to fill her prescription and get some dinner. I first went to Walgreens. It was an 1 hour and 15 minutes wait. Ya right I felt like crap (I have a cold too) and I needed to get home to my sick baby. So I drove to Smiths Market Place. It was only a 15 minute wait HURRAY! So I got some soup and rolls and got a balloon for my sickie which pretty much took 15 minutes to get. Got the prescription and I as off. I got home took out the medicine and noticed it was in powder form. What? Never had that. Then I read the directions and it seemed backwards since I read the written prescription before I gave it to the pharmacist. So I called the pharmacy and they assured me the directions were right but were a little different since they had run out of the lesser strength meds. I then asked hey this is in powder how does that work? OH...... you need to bring that back and get it mixed. GREAT! Not only did I feel sicker by the minute I didn't want to go all the way back. I still wasn't satisfied either will the dosage and decided to call my doctor. Ya the dosage WAS wrong and I would have been giving her 3 times the amount she was suppose to have. Anyways at this moment I was done. I drove back and got the meds mixed and a new dosage paper printed. Ya DO NOT GO TO THAT PHARMACY. I won't ever go back. That is a HUGE mistake to make. They could kill someone by doing this. Anyways I was finally home and the long night began with cuddling catching puke and rocking Avery back to sleep. Poor thing. I hope she gets some much needed rest tonight. At least today she is starting to get back to her old self and her fever is WAY lower.

Avery loves to sing! She will always sing along with the radio and can sing Twinkle Twinkle little star and many more songs. Every night after we read stories we sing songs. Chris heard Avery singing and grabbed the camera you can't see much and don't mind me singing but you can hear Avery singing I am a Child of God.

So yesterday I wasn't feeling too hot. I have been having this really bad headaches everyday and the doctor thinks its so weird since I didn't have any when I was pregnant with Avery. Our neighbor is a nurse and lent us her blood pressure cuff since every time I have had a really bad headache I felt like I did when I had high blood pressure with Avery (that is why she was born at 33 weeks) Anyways yesterday I felt horrible and took my blood pressure. Not good. I kept reading really high. I took it six times and 4 of those were way high. I didn't know if the cuff was reading wrong or something but I did call the doctor and they pretty much told me I had to get someone drive me to the E.R. I talked them into letting me come into the office to double check. Sandy rushed to our house from school and my friend Genessa came also. Sandy stayed with Ave since she is way sick and G took me to the Doctor. I was freaking out. I can't already have high blood pressure! I can't be on bed rest or be put in the hospital! Not yet! Well my blood pressure ended up being fine but they still made me see one of the midwives since all the doctors had left for the day. She couldn't explain the headache or anything just like my doctor. We listened to the heartbeat again and off I went grateful that I didn't have to be hospitalized. I came home tested the cuff again and it gave me a normal reading so who knows what happened. I am so grateful for Sandy and Genessa thanks guys for rushing to my rescue! I then took my headache medicine that I hate taking cause it makes me loopy and took a nap til Chris got home.

We had another doctor appointment today and things looked good. The doctor can't explain my bad cramps and sharp pains which kinda stinks, growing pains maybe? No ultrasound which was weird; but we did hear the heartbeat again which always makes me feel better. The doc thinks its a girl because the heart rate was around 160-165 so we will see. Avery also thinks she is having a sister. We have a gender ultrasound set for the 14th! Valentines day hurray!

Mayan Fun

So For my birthday Chris took the day off HURRAY! And took me to the Mayan and a movie. It was so much fun. And for a second year in a row THE FOOD WAS GOOD. Whenever you mention to Mayan to anyone they say eww the food is gross! Well its not so Chris took a picture of his heaping pile of fajitas to prove it. They changed the menu a bit from last year but for the better now you get a ton of food instead of barely any. Which also could be bad when you end up gorging yourself cause its so dang good! I had such a good birthday this year! It almost made me forget that I'm getting old.

So a couple weeks ago Gap was having a sale on their spring line so I just couldn't resist this cute outfit! Avery just loved it. She twirled around like a princess singing I know you from sleeping beauty. And posed quite nicely to show off her cute dress, hat, and sun glasses. I had to blog about Avery and her new pet name for Penelope. She of corse can't say Penelope at all. She has been able to say Cooper forever and usually calls Penelope Cooper too. But lately she has been calling her Wootie.... I have no idea where she got this from or how it even works as the name Penelope. It just cracks me up every time she yells, "Wootie come here!" Sunday we all went down to my dads house for the January Birthdays. (We have four in jan.) It was my brother James, my dads, my brother in law mikes, and mine. An unexpected ultrasound

So considering the situation of my pregnancy and tons of people are always asking how everything is I thought I would just blog about the things that are going on. Yesterday I had some really sharp painful cramps in my right side. YIKES! Normally I get these every couple of days but they go away pretty fas t(within minutes to 1/2 hour). I had told my doctor about them and said you are probably just growing and since your organs aren't normal it probably just hurts worse for you. But yesterday was an all day experience. I called the doctor of corse worried he said to go to the ER if they got worse since they were closing and to come in the next day if I was still in pain. Luckily my mom came over and took Ave while I passed out in bed. And luckily this morning the pain was way down but still lingering so I called the doc again and I had to go in for another ultrasound. This is my fourth ultrasound! Can you believe it and I'm sure there will be a whole lot more of them. Well the baby is fine we saw and heard the heart beat. Hurray! And we got to see our cutie again we are spoiled! This time the baby had pretty much doubled in size since the 8th of Jan. And as you can see we saw a foot and the arms and a profile. Also got to see it move around. CRAZY! But still no gender :( Anyways nothing was wrong with our little one which was good but it still doesn't explain my pain! I'm guessing the doctor will say its just your crazy uterus's. Chris reminded me how miserable I was when I was prego with Avery ya I guess I blocked those memories. I did have to go on bed rest at 20 weeks with her for "painful cramps" I'm just glad they didn't put me on bed rest yet. Well there is the update and I will keep you all posted on any news.

Avery is so excited to be a big sister!

I guess its ok to share our little secret! Yes we are pregnant with our 2nd! I am a little over 12 weeks now and slowly starting to not feel deathly sick everyday. Hence the lack of posts. The doctor said we are pretty much in the clear now but with my whole double uterus thing its still a mystery on what will exactly happen. I had Avery in my right side with the normal cervix so we know that side is ok even though I had her at 33 weeks. Most women with the anatomy do have their babies premature because the baby runs out of space. With Ave I had pre-eclamsia so we don't know how much longer I could have carried her. This pregnancy is in the left side with the small cervix so the doctor says we don't know if I will have a normal delivery like Ave or if I will have a c- section but we will worry about that when we get there. The only real mystery is is how early will I have this baby. My due date is August 5th. So they are just keeping a real close eye on me and we will just see. Im just preparing myself for another early baby. Im ok with that as long as he/she is healthy! Anyways if anyone has any questions about the weird situation with uterus ask away oh and we all know I have one kidney too! I think I got in the wrong line!

A while back we went to McDonalds with my niece and nephew and taada we got these amazingly cute pictures of Avo being a cheese ball! Avery is turning into quite the young lady. Chris told her the other night binkies are for babies and she is a big girl and doesn't need a binkie anymore. She said ok! and handed it over I was shocked! Because we all know how miss Avery is a very opinionated little girl and likes things to be her way or her idea. Surprisingly she slept through the night just fine and didn't ask for the binkie once. She has asked for it a couple of times now but we just say binkies are for babies and you are a big girl and she gets this HUGE smile on her face and is fine. Avery has also started to potty train a bit more. She will go 3-4 times on the big girl potty a day which I think is amazing and most of the time wears big girl pull ups. In fact we spent new years sitting in the bathroom while she made her first number 2 in the toilet. Chris said hey happy new year and we both laughed and couldn't have wished to spend it any other way. Avery is talks so much now and sometimes we are like be quiet for just a minute! She is talking in very short sentences and will pretty much copy any word you say even if you don't mean to say it (if you know what I mean). The other day Chris was like this is stupid and Avery copied! Stupid stupid stupid. We couldn't stop laughing. She is pretty much obsessed with Dora now and says Beuno all the time. She still hates eating unless its yogurt (which she call wenert) pizza, chicken nuggets only from McDonalds, mac and cheese, and quesadillas, and baby food of corse! She is in love with babies and playing with her friends. Oh and she is obsessed with her daddy! She is definitely a daddys girl. Anyways there is a little update on miss Avery.

For New Years we hung out with my dads side. Went went out to dinner. First trying to hit up Chilis since half of us had gift cards. Bad idea on a holiday! Most people in Utah county were thinking baby back ribs too! It was an hour and forty five minute wait. Not a good idea with two toddlers no place to stand and several hungry women. So we hit up McDonalds. YES! haha not really well the kids a blast on the play place so that was sure nice to have them out of our hair while we all tried to scarf down our dinner since they closed in 30 minutes! After dinner we headed over to the mall for a warm kid friendly party! It was fun but crazy. The lines were outrageous for any of the kids stuff. So we waited in line for a balloon animal and face painting. We had Avery get her face painted and we definitely thought she wouldn't stay put. We were wrong she LOVED it! And kept saying paint paint. Overall the night had a lot of hiccups but we had so much fun being with family.

Christmas was so fun this year because Avery knew what was going on and was REALLY into opening presents. She kept saying open more open more. She was pretty sad when all the presents had been opened. For Christmas Eve we head over to Chris's moms house to have a yummy dinner and play games. It was so fun hanging out with family. We got home pretty late and realized crap we hadn't put together or wrapped all the gifts so we were up pretty late getting Christmas ready. Avery woke up Christmas morning around 9 nice! a little sleep in is always nice. We took her downstairs and she went crazy opening presents. Afterwards we went to Chris's dads for brunch and had another yummy meal! and more presents. Then our moms came over for even more presents. It was a great day! Can't wait for next year.....Well maybe I can.

Yesterday me and my neighbor decided we should take the kids out in the fresh snow. Avery had never been so we ran over to Target to get all the gear. She picked out her boots and was so excited to play with her friends. We got home and got all ready, went and met our friends outside and BAM I find out Avery is petrified of walking, touching, anything with snow. YIKES! She screamed the whole way to the hill behind our house. Screamed while I made her try sledding down the hill and hated me the rest of the time. Only wanting our neighbor to hold her. We finally went to the bottom of the hill and the only way she would stand on her own was in an area that was cleared of snow. Hopefully next time she will be ok with it!

Avery is struggling at taking her naps and decides a lot of the time to NOT nap. (Which drives me crazy!) She is slowly getting back into the groove but this picture we got when we drove home from Chris's dads house. She hadn't had a nap yet and she fell asleep in the car which is not the norm for her. Chris carried her in and she didn't budge. We didn't really want her to take a nap since it was 6:30 and she would be up all night if she did. Chris laid her down on he love sac and she still didn't move. Penelope cuddled up next to her and Avery slept for 30 min. What a miracle!

Black Friday

Our normal tradition is to put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) and I do all our Christmas shopping that day. I usually gather all the ads for black friday and head out early in the morning to hunt down all the deals for Christmas. This year was a bit different and we well me ended up putting up the tree the next week and Chris went out (ON BLACK FRIDAY mind you) for me and gathered up ALL our Christmas gifts. And the Christmas shopping was done! Can you believe it!? And all by my wonderful husband! Thanks Chris! Now every morning me and Avery come down stairs and she insists on turning on the christmas lights. She LOVES the christmas tree and is doing really well at not touching it which I am VERY surprised at.

It all started back when we did tutus for my sisters baby shower we had such a good response to that. My other sister was invited to a craft fair and sold a ton so we are in another this weekend. On Averys birthday we had a grand ol time. She was in a great mood, which is always nice. We started the day with my mom coming over and going to Avery's fav place to eat...McDonalds. We let her play for a while then off to take a nap. Later that night we met up with her cousins, grandma Sandy and grandma Allyn at Jump On It. Avery absolutely LOVES jumping pretty much on anything. Trampolines, beds, couches, the ground. So she had a blast epsecailly with her cousins Jaeden and Savanna! We came home after had cookies and opened a couple of presents. Avery's words were.. "oh! cool" to every present she opened. Grandma Sandy got her an electric barbie four wheeler. She thought it was pretty cool except she was petrified to ride it. Sad! But now we can't get her off of it! Happy Birthday Avo!

We were able to go to Cornbellys twice this year which was so fun! Me, Avery , and my mom went on Halloween then we went the next day with our friends McKell and Dan. Avery had so much fun. (As you can tell since she has a huge smile below)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Halloween was so much fun this year because Avery could actually Trick or Treat! She went around putting her little treats in her bag and just loved it! We started off the day by going to Cornbellys with my mom (I will post those pics later). We came home got ready and ran down to pick up Chris from work. We went to Grandma Sandy's for Avery's first Trick or Treat stop and went around her neighborhood for a bit. Then we headed down to my sisters Sarahs to trunk or treat in her neighborhood. Now this was no normal trunk or treat! They had a haunted house, dance, food, movie and a hay ride! It was crazy fun and Avery had a blast hanging out with her cousins! Overall this was the best Halloween yet!

Finally! Pumpkins! It took two tries to go pick them but finally we have them and we stayed up all night carving away! It was so much fun. Chris went downstairs and came up with an array of power tools and saws. We googled our ideas to get pictures and started away. Surprise surprise when Lil Miss Avery didn't want to get her hands dirty. Every time she gets anything on her hands she freaks and wants to wash them so this time was no different. She did like watching though.

So I promised that I would write about our fam vaca. So here I am writing about it. We flew into California thursday night and hitched a ride in this awesome party van with snoop dog as our driver. Well it really wasn't snoop; but this dude literally looked exactly like him and sounded like him too! We got to the hotel and just hung out and relaxed, good thing we did because Avery decided she wasn't going to sleep at all that night. YAY!

Friday we jumped on our FREE shuttle bus to downtown disney to meet my aunt and uncle. SURPRISE! my dad ended up meeting us there too. So we walked around and Avery enjoyed all the water features there. She kept saying, "water! water!" ps be prepared to spend mucho bucks to eat any sort of food. We spent 25 bucks just on breakfast; but it was sooo yummy!

Friday night we hit up the Halloween party at California Adventures! It was soo much fun we were all dressed up in our Halloween garb and got to trick or treat throughout the park. They had Character throughout also and Avery thought they were so COOL! She kept wanting to butt in line to see them which is a HUGE step from last year when she would scream bloody murder if they would even look at her.

The first ride we hit up was Tower of Terror. And of course Avery couldn't go on it so Chris decided he would go on his own. Me and Avery walked around outside where she met a monkey who she became friends with instantly and proceeded to scream, "MOSTER!" to everyone that had a costume on she didn't recognized. Chris came out of the ride of course all hyper from the adrenaline and said you HAVE to go on this ride. Now I have NEVER been able to go on Tower of Terror because for some reason every time I am around that ride (since it opened when I was twelve) it has been shut down! So the TERROR has been building for 12 years! And ya right I am NOT going on a ride by myself (for those of you who know me I don't like to do things by myself) let alone the Tower of Terror. Chris of corse had other ideas and proceeded to bug me the rest of the night to go on the ride. So all night I was shaking in my boots freaking out talking myself into going on this stupid ride! We walked around tried to go on Mosters Inc. (which broke down just as we were close to the front) and then I FINALLY talked myself into it. I went, shook a whole lot, screamed a whole lot, almost passed out on the ride since I was screaming so much, screamed some more and did it and did it all by MYSELF! YAY! I know I'm the coolest ever.

Saturday came around and we met up with Taunya's fam(chris's sista) and his mom Sandy and my cousin Liz. We hit up all the rides we could. Doing fast pass, baby pass, and multitasking rides so we didn't have to wait as long. The minute we got there we hit up the kids ride and the very second Avery saw the carousel she was like, "horsy! horsy now! so that was the first ride we went on. It was soo much fun this year. (Last year we went to Disneyworld with Avo and she sure didn't enjoy as much as this year) She would get to the front of the line and say "ride my turn my turn!" And we sure got a lot of laughs since Avery had to wear her monkey leash the whole time. But hey you try chasing a 2 year old in a crowded area. We have decided that this is going to be our family vaca every year. (Since we have done it 2 years in a row this time.)

Sunday we hit up our swimming pool for a bit since Avo is a little fish and had a blast Avery loved swimming with her daddy! Then we headed to the beach! Hurray! We walked around and shopped, ate dinner at this really cool fish place for Taunya's b-day, then Me, Chris, and Avery walked on the sand. Avery also loved all the birds. She kept saying , " duckies come here come here." And she would pat her leg. Avery is like her mommy she absolutely loves the Ocean! She would chase the waves back and forth and run up and down the sand. Then it was off to our airport. We were early so we took a cab to the mall, Avery passed out from exhaustion (which we all know is next to impossible for her to sleep anywhere but a quiet room) Then to the plane and finally 11:00 and we are home in our comfy bed cuddled up next to our puppies!

So this our lovely family vaca, which I had a blast on and can't wait until next year to do it again!

So here is the low down on our little cutie. Avery is turning into quite the little lady. She has started understanding things more when you try to explain something and definitely has an opinion on everything. We always try to give her options so she feels like she has some choice. She is starting to put words together. Like come here, oh snap, good boy, and good girl. She is so funny because she'll see something she likes and say, "cool!" or "awesome!" She is still quite the picky eater and loves mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. I think she has a food phobia because if she doesn't like the way it looks she WILL not try it. Avery has learned to go down the slide by herself at the playground and will run straight to the slide when we go outside or her friends Jenna and Taylors house. She'll say, "mom mom slide slide!" Avery can pretty much say any word you ask her to say EXCEPT I love you! She'll say I and you but not love :( We'll always try to trick her but nope she won't do it. Miss Avery loves every animal. She will always point our horsies and cows while we are driving down the street. And of corse she is still way into dancing. Avery is also learning that by grabbing the remote and saying gabba we will turn on her show. Its pretty cute. On the intro song to Yo Gabba Gabba she'll sing along. In fact I catch her trying to sing along to a lot of songs. Avery is also way into riding bikes. She hasn't quite gotten the pedals so our neighbor Sheri let us borrow the little fire truck and she just rides it around all day long! Thanks Sheri!

Today Avery had dance again and since she was the only little girl that didn't have tap shoes(her feet are miniature so we haven't been able to find any small enough) we went on a journey to find tiny mini tap shoes.

Luckily the glass slipper had some. They were twice as much as anywhere else but now Avery will have her shoes. She absolutely LOVES them! She was tapping her feet all afternoon and laughing at the noise her little feet were making.

I grabbed the camera. And Avery actually wanted to take pictures [one word.... miracle] I would say K go over to the chair and we'll take a picture and afterwards you can look at it. Avery would jump up say cheese and run back to me, grab the camera and laugh at herself.

She did take some of me but lets just not go there...

The days of nap time are nearing the end

I was looking through old pictures just in awe how tiny Avo was. I found this picture and it just makes me miss those days of cuddly nap times and consistent ones at that.

For the last THREE days Lil Miss Avery has decided to veto her naps. Which those of you who know Avery know that she never has missed naps. In fact I can count only three times in her life that she has missed a nap. I can't complain though because she has slept better through the night (probably because she was exhausted from going all day long).

I have been putting her down like normal and she would just sit and play and jabber and talk to her dolls. I left her in there hoping she would fall asleep but nope she wouldn't. Until today that is. She has finally taken a nap! HURRAY! Break time for mommy. I cleaned some, watched so me tv, blogged a little, and put up our halloween decor.

I just love halloween. The crisp air, fall leaves, and dressing up. (I know thats off the nap topics) Well we will see what's in store for nap time in the days to come. Wish us luck!

Finally....A date!

Sunday afternoon me and chris were able to finally go on date. Thank you Sandy! We went on a motorcycle ride up the Alpine loop, just in time to see a little bit of heaven. The leaves were changing and I was cuddled up next to my honey on his amazingly cool Harley. I couldn't help but be grateful for the things that I am blessed with in my life. This ride was especially special because it was the first time I got to ride in the rain. Yes the rain. You ask yourself why in the world would we voluntarily go on a bike ride in the rain? Well I did check the weather and there was no report of rain. But I forgot like did the rest on our ride that sometimes the weather in the canyon can be unpredictable. Luckily Chris made sure that I brought a jacket even though I thought he was crazy considering in was reaching temperatures close to 90. So picture this Me and Chris riding through the canyon cuddled up looking up at all the beautiful leaves.... then out of nowhere we were suddenly amongst a HUGE biker gang. So now picture me and Chris along with ten other bikers roaring up through the canyon! Could this day get any better? Oh and I do have to add I had the most comfy seat. A plush blue pillow out of our living room. Ya! You wouldn't think it would be oh... but it was amazing! Well here are a few pictures from our adventure. Enjoy!

This is dedicated to all those moms and dads out there that hold their babies tightly all night even though they are covered in throw up and smell like rotten milk.

I looked over at Avery while we were lying on the bathroom floor huddled together, almost passed out from exhaustion and agonizing stomach pain. I smiled. And thought to myself, I love this girl with all my heart. And if only I could take away the pain she was having. Oh wait....I was in that pain too. Together we had been puking our guts out hand in hand all night long. And yes it was ALL night. 7:00 am to be exact was when we finally caught some shut eye for about an hour. And yes it continued into the next day.

The next day was like a dream. I drifted in and out of consciousness all day long. Only hearing the faint noise of Lady in the Tramp in the background. Then Curious George, then Lady in the Tramp....(I really don't even remember changing the DVDs.) Then catching throw up with a bowl, then running to the bathroom to push Avery over the toilet, then cleaning, then passing out again on the bed. Then my turn in the bathroom while holding Avery while she's crying. Then I start to cry wanting my mom.

And finally...A new day. Like the first day of spring. No more toilets in our faces and no more stinky rooms. The day has come that we are over our flu and the only thing that remains if our tuckered out bodies and sore stomach muscles.

To all those parents out there that have experienced the same thing. I take off my hat to you....

5 things I was doing 1o years ago.

1. I was 14 year old! hahaha that sounds really young.

2. I was going to Canyon View Jr High and Chris's mom was my geography teacher! Weird huh?

3. I was going to California every chance I could because I just loved being there. I had a lot of really good friends there from living with my aunt and uncle the year before.

4. I was probably talking about boys with my girlfriends? I don't know this is HARD!

5. Going to the mall all the time and bumming money off of my dad.

5 things on today to-do list.

1. Go to Broadbents to check out there fabric to add to the Mod Podge obbsession.

2. Go buy new rubber bands for Avery. (We are out and one pony tale is barely being held in with a broken rubber band.

3. Clean up doggie mess.

4. Pick up the house since it is up for rent. And I want it perfect so someone wants to live here.

5. Wait patiently while Chris gets home late from work :(

1. My husband. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. He makes me laugh and giggle. He helps me be a better person and is always willing to lend me a hand when things get hard. He always gets me to do things that I didn't think I could ever do. (Like go up to a random person and talk to them, or do something spontaneous like run in the rain)

2. Avery Ann Hadlock. She is the light of my life and I am so blessed to have her. She is our little miracle and make me grateful everyday that I have her in my life. I love her with my whole being.

3. My dogs. Penelope and Cooper. They always cheer me up when I am down . They are so loyal and just brighten my day. Penelope helped me get through a lot of hard times before I met Chris and is always there for me.

4. My house and cars. When I was a kid we moved around a lot and didn't have much. So I just love that we have cars that have air conditioning and a house with furniture in it. Sounds silly but I am truly grateful for them.

5. My friends and family. All my friends are pretty much family to me so I'll add them to number five. I really love my friends and family. They are always there for me when I need them the most.

6. My talents. I love photography and I love that I get to do it for my job. It is a true blessing that I have been able to it. It is a release to me and makes me just happy whenever I do it.

So Miss Avery has had quite the obsession with picking her nose lately. Don't judge she has a cold right now so pretty much she has constant flowage. Well the other day we caught a double dig and she did it long enough that yes I got this wonderful picture that we can pass down for generations to come.

I literally have been crying since I have watched this clip on abortion views of Barack Obama. I was on the fence about who I would vote for in November and usually I'm not a very political person at all. But I know now I will NOT vote for Obama. How could anyone with a heart be for something so evil and heartless. There are so many people in this world that would give anything to have a baby. Why is it fair for someone that has been "burdened" with being pregnant out of selfishness be able to choose to MURDER their child?
